Upgrading to the Latest MapSpeller™ Version

The latest version of the MapSpeller spell-checker offers many new features and quality improvements that are certainly worth the upgrade.

To upgrade, users who are current on their maintenance will need to:

  1. Remove the earlier version of the software
  2. Install the new version.

The licensing information and the customized data files remain intact in the process.

Important Notes

Upgrade Notification Policy (As of March 2009)
  • The first year of maintenance is included with the original purchase of the software. The anniversary date is based on the date when the keycode was emailed.
  • Edgetech America, Inc. will email users who are current on maintenance when functional upgrades become available.
  • In addition, users current on maintenance should visit the MapSpeller website (www.MapSpeller.com) for quality upgrades.
  • Users who have let their maintenance laps will have to buy it retroactively to obtain the latest version of the software, or purchase brand new licenses.

MapSpeller Version Number

The first versions of MapSpeller were initially given the same version number as the ArcGIS software for which the extension was developed (9.2 and 9.3). This has been changed since MapSpeller version 1.5 to allow Edgetech to have better control of the MapSpeller version cycle. The MapSpeller build number has been sequential since the MapSpeller inception, and remains so.
