This type of licensing is well suited for
purchasing:
- Any number of licenses when cash flow is available
at purchase time
- When purchasing licenses for fewer
than 20 users.
Regular per-copy licenses are
valid for a total of six years after the software maintenance expires. With both
MapSpeller and ArcGIS evolving quickly, it is expected that
maintenance be purchased on an annual basis to obtain technical
support and to get the latest version of MapSpeller at no additional
charge. However, the software will continue to perform, on the
platform for which it was designed, for six years past the
maintenance expiration date. No technical support is available after
maintenance expires.
With ELAs, organizations rent the MapSpeller
software for the duration of the contract (3 years). The software
expires when the contract ends. The pricing is based on the total
number of ArcMap users at the inception of the contract. ELAs enable:
-
Governments to gain access to
unlimited amounts of MapSpeller software
-
Private-sector organizations
to
increase their original MapSpeller seats by 50% annually without extra charge
- Organizations to evenly spread the cost of MapSpeller
over the duration of the contract
- Organizations to easily manage many MapSpeller users.
Depending on the type of organization, one
or several of the following ELAs may be available:
-
Small Municipalities and
Counties ELA
-
Small Utilities ELA
-
Educational ELA. Educational
institutions can also take advantage of
Educational Lab License
Agreements.
- Standard ELA. The
Standard ELA is available to all organizations. The minimum
number of users taken into consideration is 20.
